Ocean of God - Comic
Media: Acrylic paint and paper, digital art
Date: 2021
Ocean of God is a 10-page comic created in response to COP26's call to focus on current marine problems. By researching how religion affects the relationship between people and nature, and using the existing information as a basis for the comic, I am calling on religious people to take into account the impact of plastic pollution on the oceans in our daily lives. With approximately 60% of the UK population being Christian, I chose the (younger generation of) Christians, who mainly live in the cities, as my target audience, and create images that connect the Bible verses with the current state of plastic pollution to convey the message of protecting the oceans.
